Working as a Sports Therapist
Since 1995 my career has focused on working with musculoskeletal problems in my patients. My experience in this range of issues is considerable and this is the first quality that I feel sets me apart from other massage therapists, especially in the Bognor and Chichester area. Over the years I have worked on some very complex cases and have seen incredible improvements in my patients. Helping people whether to reduce their pain, be stronger, be better sportsmen or just feel better, never stops being hugely rewarding for me
Running, Training and Coaching
The second quality that attributes to my success as Sports Tharapist, is my thirty plus years (and counting!) of long distance running. I still race competitively and so have a real and personal understanding of the strain your body can feel, and how important quick recovery and being injury free is. Although I am now slightly less competitively involved in the sport, I still run and train daily. I also mentor top flight athletes up to international standard and am a qualified national athletics coach.
My experience, as a sportsman, a therapist and a coach, not only helps me to understand and work with injuries, but also to understand the movement, strengths and weaknesses of the human body. I am therefore well placed to help my patients to to regain an efficiently functioning physiology.
Professional Background
I qualified in 1994 with an ITEC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology & Body Massage, and in 1995 with a Diploma in Sports Therapy. Since that time I’ve been committed to a programme of continual training and have completed many further short courses; I love to learn. In January 2020 I passed a landmark of 25 years working as a professional Sports Therapist.
I have full professional Indemnity insurance and am fully CRB/ DBS checked. I am a Gold member of The Association for Soft Tissue Therapists (SMA) and abide by the highest standards of professional conduct. To ensure your Data is securely kept I am registered with the ICO (information Commissioner’s Office) and comply with all data protection rules.
Living in Bognor Regis
I am born and bred in this area of Sussex and I take full advantage of my beautiful surroundings, I love nature and the great outdoors. The coast and the South Downs provide some exceptional opportunities for long runs and quality training. My work and my love of sport takes up most of my time, but I still manage to enjoy some other fine things in life! I have a particular interest in well engineered cars and nice meals out.
